Under the direction of the supervisor, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and settlement (either by denial, compromise, or payment) of claims arising from physical damages to vehicles, property of customers (higher and more complex cases) and third parties (medium to high exposure to bodily injury claims ). Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as being well organized.
This candidate will report to our Pennsylvania Claims Office.
Duties involve but are not limited to:
Gather facts in order to determine liability and coverage
Manage phone calls and e-mails in a fast-paced environment
Assign and correspond with independent adjuster s as needed
Obtain record ed statements
Obtain police reports and witness statements as needed
Must have the ability to promptly investigate and bring claims to conclusion
Have the ability to prepare formal denial letters regarding coverage and liability
Reporting and presenting to large loss committee on cases exceeding $100,000
After-hours and on-call responsibilities
Some travel may be required in the field in response to catastrophic losses at U-Haul centers and affiliated locations
