Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a valued client in the insurance industry for this exciting opportunity.

Position Summary

The selected candidate will exercise independent judgment and discretion daily while collaborating with Producers, Executives, Account Executives, and clients to ensure the success of the department. This role involves providing expert advice on insurance coverage issues, as well as addressing general litigation matters involving clients.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Address client and carrier coverage issues.
  • Review coverage position letters from carriers to identify potential disputes.
  • Evaluate and interpret contract documents for insureds and industry contacts.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for insurance coverage questions, claims, and related issues.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Coverage Team with in-house educational seminars.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Department to assess liability exposures, ensure reserve adequacy, and develop resolution strategies for liability claims.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation on underwriting and coverage/policy language as needed.
  • Attend prospect, claim review, and other client meetings.
  • Stay current on case law and insurance regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors, counsel, and industry contacts.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar.
  • Continuing Legal Education (CLE) in accordance with Bar requirements.
  • At least 1 year of experience in insurance coverage law, litigation, and complex insurance matters.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of insurance coverages and regulations.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and EPIC.
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to actively advocate for clients.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Professional and goal-oriented mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $100,000 – $135,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
  • Comprehensive benefits package available.
