Start your journey with us Our HQ Claims Resource Operations department seeks a property salvage specialist to be the owner and subject matter expert of the salvage process. This role is responsible for maximizing the net return for the company, or mitigate associated costs, related to salvage. This role will provide direction and support to Field Claims and other associates in assessing salvage opportunities. The position is based in our Fairfield, OH location. We currently offer a hybrid work environment.
Salary: The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $95,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to: - pursue new vendor relationships and maintain existing ones
- create and develop property salvage policies and procedures with recovery management
- perform file reviews and create programs for enhanced property salvage returns
- review and approve vendor expense payments in a timely and accurate manner
- provide training and expertise to Field Claims, SIU, HQ Claims management and vendors on property salvage claims, recovery and fraud concerns
- supervise and negotiate high net worth property salvage claims, including watercraft
- supervise and maintain a jewelry salvage program, including its vendors
- research abandonment, storage and other expenses from internal and outside sources that impact property salvage settlements
Be equipped with: - knowledge of our Claims Management System (preferred)
- the ability to pay attention to detail and make sound decisions
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- the ability to learn claims handling statutory requirements to ensure compliance
- a working knowledge of Microsoft® Office Suite
- basic accounting knowledge (preferred)
- a willingness to take on new responsibilities
Bring education and experience from: - a high school diploma or equivalent
- three or more years of claims handling experience (required); salvage experience (preferred)
- an AIC designation (or the willingness to successfully complete the designation within a three-year timeframe)
- an active arbitration panelist designation (or the willingness to successfully complete the designation)
