Responsibilities:

The Auto Physical Damage Claim Representative, located in Houston, TX, will be responsible for handling, negotiating, and resolving first- and third-party moderately complex commercial automobile property damage claims to conclusion. This position will also handle basic third-party commercial automobile bodily injury claims. This includes coverage verification, policy interpretation, liability investigation, and evaluation and negotiation of commercial auto property damage claims consistent with company policies and state regulations.

  • Conduct and manage the investigative process, ongoing communication with the customer, and relevant external parties.
  • Documenting files to include all key activities, contacts made, and statements taken, including a full outline covering all aspect of the claim requirements for resolution.
  • Manage the claims payment authorization process to include the review and process of all claims payments to ensure the payments and handling of the claim were within company guidelines.
  • Negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
  • Ability to present information through the spoken or written word; listen well.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and uphold a high standard of customer service.
  • Ability to identify and respond to current and future customers needs and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to use a win-win approach to resolve controversy.
  • Recognizes differences in opinions and misunderstandings and encourages open discussion.
  • Accepts individual responsibility for all actions taken. Holds self and others accountable to the organization and stakeholders.
  • Strong computer proficiency necessary.
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience preferred.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of adjuster experience handling commercial automobile property damage claims and 1-2 years of bodily injury claims experience
  • Must possess a current Texas claims adjuster license; additional licenses a plus

Education Requirement

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required.
