The Position: The Claims Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, coordination, implementation and management of the incident reporting process to include insurance claims and lawsuits in support of the Director of Risk and overall Risk Management at GRAND PEAKS.
Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Risk with:
- Intake, recording, analyzation, and distribution of property incident report information to Property and Asset Management departments, ownership, liability third-party administrators, and insurance brokers.
- Oversight of insurance claim status and/or active lawsuit with recommended strategies to achieve a satisfactory resolution.
- Familiar with insurance policy details.
- Ability to work with collection and renter's insurance agencies to maximize reimbursement opportunities from responsible third parties.
- Review, approve, and process claims-related invoices and lien waivers.
- Review of vendor contracts related to restoration/repairs of large property losses and negotiating with insurance adjusters and professional experts/consultants.
- Some travel may be necessary to perform property inspections related to risk, safety, and restoration claims progress.
- Review of Vendor Credentialing vendor exception requests.
- Review and update risk and safety policies, as necessary, for presentation to Senior Management team.
- Perform any other work-related assigned tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel experience and proficiency is a necessity, Microsoft Smartsheet experience is helpful), Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, market database software.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build effective and professional relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior management, Team Members, external service providers and contractors.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret leases, contracts, and related documents.
- Must have the interest and ability to be trained in new skills by attending continuing educational opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail through analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

- Overnight travel required to perform duties.
Salary: $80k - $90k annually DOE + bonuses
