Best Company.Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, the Claims Technician provides administrative support to the Claims department including triaging incoming claims calls, processing mail, and performing time-sensitive clerical responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
  • Sort, scan and index copies of claims department mail and documents into electronic claims files
  • Enter expense payment data into claims system to pay invoices as directed by Claims Examiners and Claims Managers
  • Provide administrative support to the claims department using word processing, spreadsheet applications as well as scanning programs
  • Perform general office duties including copying, data entry and filing
  • Establish new claim files
  • Assist Claims Examiners on claim file support
  • Print and mail all outgoing claims mail correspondence and checks
  • Identify and distribute all incoming mail, including miscellaneous mail
  • Perform ISO and Medicare/Medicaid indexing
  • Perform group phone responsibilities
  • Provide effective and efficient communication with external customers
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects while maintaining daily production standards in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet research
  • Ability to scan documents using Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to perform work in the office up to five days per week
Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate's Degree or college coursework in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and relative experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in customer service or office environment preferred
