Structural Component Systems, Inc. is actively seeking a full-time Class A CDL Driver in the Des Moines area to safely deliver building materials and components on flatbeds, step decks and roll-off type trailers. Must be able to occasionally operate a truck mounted forklift and unload products in asafe manner and damage free. This position works Monday through Friday with no weekends required. We value your personal time - so home every night. Occasional overnights may be suggested. When you do stay overnight, we provide a nice stipend for hotel and meal expenses. Plus, we work hard to be flexible around your schedule, as needed. For example, start times are flexible to your schedule but drivers usually start their day anywhere from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM. SCS offers a competitive wage starting at $25-$30/hour based on experience with the opportunity for an increase every 6 months, based on performance. QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills:
- Valid Class A driver's license
- Clean driver's record
- Minimum 2 years driving experience, preferably with flatbed trailer
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
- Good organizational skills, ability to understand, read and write in English.
- Ability to pass required DOT physical and drug tests.
- Ability to maintain good work attendance.
- Positive, self-motivated, can do attitude, and requires very little supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with on-site customers
Preferred skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience a plus, though not required.
- Warehouse experience a plus, though not required.

- Drives safely and obeys all DOT regulations and rules.
- Maintains accurate DOT hours of service logs.
- Performs pre & post trip inspections.
- Conveys loads to their destination in a safe and timely manner.
- Inspects load prior to departure - securing with cables, chains, binders and straps.
- Assists with loading, unloading of materials and coordinates activities of workers helping to load and unload.
- Safe operation of forklift at jobsites.
- Ensure that products delivered are damage free - notifies dispatch immediately if damaged.
- Checks off all materials on load sheets to ensure all products are delivered.
- Takes jobsite photos and forwards to dispatcher.
- Positive attitude and courteous behavior to customers and fellow employees is required.
- Required to wear Company Personal Protective Equipment while on all job sites if required by jobsite.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis
- Must be able to climb into cab, climb on back of trailer to hook up hoses, etc.
- Must be able to throw straps to secure loads occasionally
