Eligibility begins on YOUR VERY FIRST DAY OF EMPLOYMENT.Exemption TypeExemptEducationBachelor's DegreeJob DescriptionYRCI is seeking full-time Classification Specialist, Team Lead to support our Human Resource (HR) Remote Operations Center (HRROC™), located in Reston, VA. YRCI's HRROC™ is a Shared Service Center that supports multiple Federal agencies and offers a friendly, collaborative team environment with access to training from industry experts!The Role:
  • Although the YRCI home office is located in Reston, VA, this position is fully remote.
  • Team Lead over approximately 10 classifiers responsible for the oversight and QC of work on the contract.
  • Although most of the work will be completed by the staff, the team lead will be reviewing the work of the team related to writing and classify a full range of Position Descriptions (PD) using the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) PD formats and classification standards for General Schedule (GS), Wage Grade (WG), and excepted service positions. Work will include a high volume of new classifications as well as PD reviews on a two year cycle.
  • Assign work to the members of the team and ensure appropriate tracking of the work in tracking system. Perform all necessary review and analysis, including conducting interviews and research, if needed, and engage in appropriate coordination with agency Human Resources (HR) personnel to provide clear and correctly written PDs.
  • May get involved in more complex Classification issues where necessary. Conduct Desk Audits as required preparing audit questionnaires, develop audit reports based on the administrative record and employee and supervisory interviews, and prepare evaluation statements based on a thorough analysis of position information and applicable classification standards.
  • Host and participate in weekly production meetings with agency staff to discuss status of PDs and incoming PD requests. Participate in client meetings ensuring the team is on target in completing the work timely and accurately. Review weekly and monthly reports to ensure accuracy and present to the client, and participate in monthly contract status meetings.
  • Serve as a mentor to Junior Classifiers hired under this contract.
  • Provide input to the supervisor on work performance of the team members.
Job Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years of hands-on operational experience in Federal position classification and Bachelors Degree.
  • Provide recent Federal classification operational services since Hiring Reform 2010 which included communications support and advice, and development of initiatives.
  • Write and classifying Federal PDs.
  • Collaborate with Federal managers and executives to help them navigate the Federal classification process, including position management advisory services.
  • Presence or notability of past experience in providing advisory services at a high organizational level with the Federal Government; preferably with a Cabinet-level agency.
  • Command of Title 5 Federal classification regulations and OPM classification and position management rules and policy.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the government-required security clearance.
