REPORTS TO/TERM : Principal and Administrative TeamFull Time 10-month positionESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: A Classroom Assistant is required to perform the following duties:Work collaboratively and harmoniously with Lead Classroom TeacherSupport established classroom rules and protocol Motivate and support students in reaching high levels of academic successCreate a positive student culture around online learning and small group tutoringMaintain high behavioral expectations for all studentsInterpret, manage, and utilize multiple sets of data in order to best support student progressPerform targeted individual assistance and small group tutoringAssist with the creation of individual learning plans for each student enrolled Maintain frequent communication with students and their support network regarding academic progressCommunicate and collaborate with teachers and school administratorsParticipate in staff development opportunitiesParticipate in all relative grade appropriate or requested staff meetings Ensure the security of computer equipment and accessoriesDress professionally and uphold all school policiesPerform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by Lead Classroom Teacher and PrincipalRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or passing score on the Louisiana ParaPro Assessment with college creditsCommitment to the mission and organizational goals of GEO AcademiesExperience or familiarity in the following areas:Blended LearningOnline learning / courseworkSuccessful teaching experience in an urban environment 3 years' experience working with students in educational setting
