THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Forest ( is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support at our facility.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will provide clerical and office support to your assigned institution. Responsibilities include filing, typing a variety of documents, entering data for various departments within the institution, operate office equipment and maintaining computer databases and records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

+ Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

+ Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

+ Graduation from high school;or

+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

+ S uccessful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.

+ You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
