DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will be responsible for billing, collection, and customer service work related to the State Workers' Insurance Fund (SWIF). Work includes generating invoices, ensuring statement accuracy, resolving questions, discrepancies, and disputes, as well as maintaining documentation and data regarding accounts and policyholders. Additional duties include pursuing payment of smaller overdue accounts, determining appropriate collection approach, establishing payment plans, and revising agreement terms. You will have the opportunity to recommend referrals of accounts to the Office of Attorney General (OAG) for legal action and collaborate with OAG and SWIF audit staff regarding account details and actions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
