Schedule: Full time, Day hours.Main Function:
  • Responsible for the overall administration, budgetary, and operational functions of the clerical staff within the Outpatient OB/GYN department.
  • Develops long-term strategies and short-term objectives to actively support the System's vision, mission and values under the direction of the Practice Manager.
  • Supervises 13-15 clinical secretaries and 2 surgical schedulers.
  • Maintains a professional, enjoyable, and orderly work environment.
  • Interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations as is appropriate to clerical staff.
  • Recognizes and supports the Thompson Way, has a vision for quality, and demonstrates professional leadership and direction for Outpatient OB/GYN.
  • Facilitates monthly office staff meetings addressing operational issues and providing education as necessary.
  • Complete the screening, interviewing, onboarding and training process for all new clerical staff for the outpatient OB/GYN departments.
  • Completes annual performance evaluations for clerical team.

  • Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including, but not limited to, that of patients, staff, and the health system.
  • Independently supervises the function of daily work assignments to assure productive workflow.
  • Demonstrates skill in proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.
  • Supervises and monitors the activity of associates having responsibilities for an effective and efficient operation.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with others in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Exhibits leadership through mentoring and development of associates.
  • Provides administrative guidance and consultation appropriate to the growth and development of associates.
  • Lives the CARES values at all times.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two to three years of clinical secretary experience required
  • Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • ICD-10/CPT coding experience preferred.
  • Epic experience strongly preferred.
