OverviewUnder direct supervision, performs general clerical work and messenger duties.Please Note: This job has been posted internally from August 16, 2024 - August 26, 2024.Responsibilities Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.Performs duties related to tracking, retrieving, reconciling medical records received within the Health Information Management Department. Provides stat report for charts not located, related there of.Answers telephone, takes and relays messages, acts as Information Clerk and Receptionist.Performs a variety of clerical tasks, in conjunction with administrative services staff, where little knowledge of subject matter is required, such as assisting with distribution of payroll checks, etc.Assists in preparing records and other data for transmittal to other hospital departments.Preps and scans documents into the electronic document management system format utilizing established process in a timely manner as per Health Information Management Department Policy, to ensure that information becomes available timely for patient care.Performs quality control to ensure the integrity, completeness and legibility of scanned patient health records. Validates the paper record to scanned images to ensure a complete and legible record.Assumes the primary responsibility for hardware tests to ensure proper feeding of scanner sheets. Maintains a daily event log of any imperfection during scanning and indexing activities. Provides event log to the immediate Supervisor.Inspects the equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Assumes responsibility of maintaining an inventory of supplies and spare parts for the scanner. Places scanner maintenance calls.Responsible for submitting all productivity reports daily to immediate Supervisor.Corrects and completes daily errors by performing quality assurance on all assigned work.Picks-up, sorts and distributes mail, letters, messages, packages, records, interoffice memoranda and other items and delivers them to various offices and departments of the hospital as required.Makes trips to and from outside establishments to deliver or obtain medical records, messages, and packages.Collects outgoing mail from departments at routinely established periods during each day.Is flexible and undertakes a variety of miscellaneous duties and performs other job functions as assigned. Qualifications No experience requirements, will train on the job.High School or GED.Basic Computer knowledge.Basic Scanner knowledge. #J-18808-Ljbffr
