Position Summary:
Jackson Purchase Medical Center Clerk performs a range of clerical duties related to the support of operations of the unit including updating and organizing information on the unit; coordinating work within the unit and with other units and departments; reporting relevant information to the supervisor; and responding to inquiries and requests from patients, visitors and caregivers.
* Facilitates communications among caregivers, patients and visitors to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
* Performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care delivery.
* Coordinates daily patient flow activities.
* Stocks unit with office and medical supplies and prepares requisitions to maintain inventory levels.
* Promptly and professionally answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls or takes messages.
* Faxes and photocopies information as requested by staff.
* Responsible for keeping the reception and patient waiting areas, and office files clean and organized.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
