Job Summary: Provides for complete and accurate medical records through deficiency analysis and the physician completion process. Maintains medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines through appropriate filing and retrieval. Responds to requests for release of patient
Skills required: Demonstrated competence with medical terminology. Demonstrated competence with computers and the keyboard with ability to type 45 words per minute preferred. Demonstrated competence of sorting documents accurately utilizing numeric and alphabetic systems. Excellent interpersonal skills needed to work cooperatively and productively with others. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously through constant shifting of priorities under stressful conditions. Ability to identify customers, both internal and external, and apply exceptional customer service practices to daily interactions.
Minimum Education Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of medical secretarial college preferred
Minimum Experience Required: Training and experience in a medical office preferred.
