Job Overview:
The receptionist greets each patient and family member as they arrive at the Center. Receptionist issues the registration face sheet, history form and patient bill of rights. Make corrections to patient data (procedure, insurance or referring physician). Alerts the staff that patient has arrived. Assumes responsibility for all activities pertaining to the reception area. Is responsible for answering phones, taking messages and directing phone inquiries to the proper person/place. Performs clerical duties without requiring constant supervision. Exercises good judgment in dealing with patients.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High school diploma or equivalent education.
* At least two years of administrative and secretarial experience in office setting within a large institution.
Preferred:
* Post-secondary courses in business or secretarial school desirable.
* Direct knowledge of hospital procedures preferable.
* Excellent secretarial skills including: written and verbal communications skills.
* Strong interpersonal relations.
* Knowledge of computers required; Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint.
