In short, the Community Development Institute plants and cultivates the seeds for thriving communities and organizations ( As a Specialist with the Local Government Education (LGE) Program, this position will assist in delivering LGE programing to local units of government within the State of Wisconsin. This position will provide specific educational support to Local Government clerks at the town, village, city and county forms of government. Additional duties will include general local government education program development and delivery for towns, villages, cities, counties, and any form of special taxation district. Duties related to this position include delivering content/training in the below areas:-Form C/CT & other WDOR form training to municipal clerks-Year in the life of the Clerk Training-Regional Clerk/ Election Worker TrainingThis position will also:-Research and present emerging challenges and best practices in the municipal clerk profession; publish fact sheets, white papers, reports, and/or academic articles -Assess learner performance through development of evaluation techniques, and adapt program teach efforts to improve educational competence-Provide Local Government Education program delivery at WTA Spring & Fall Workshops, WCA Spring Workshops, WTA, WCA & LWM annual meetings, zoom/webinars, etc.This position is funded for 3 years with potential for continuation based on needs and funding. Division of Extension headquarters are located within Madison, WI but the position location is flexible and will be determined based on programmatic needs, successful candidate's preferences, and availability of suitable space.The Division of Extension has a deep and profound commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity, believing that these values are foundational elements to eliminate disparities and expanding access for all. Responsibilities: Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction associated with a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Provides instruction in formats such as classroom, online, and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Limited to non-credit instruction.
  • 30% Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
  • 5% Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • 5% Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • 30% Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction including grading
  • 30% Assists in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties
