Salary : $36,628.80 - $53,788.80 Annually Location : Clarinda - 51632 - Page County, IA Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 25-00849 Agency: 248 Corrections - Clarinda Correctional Facility Opening Date: 10/07/2024 Closing Date: 10/17/2024 11:59 PM Central LinkedIn Tag: #LI-POST Point of Contact: Sandra Davison Job Description Clerk Specialist at Clarinda Correctional Facility will review all incoming Incarcerated Individuals for pending charges or detainer. - Scan all necessary documents into ICON, as needed. - Coordinate transfers between institutions that have been approved by central office including all new admits while at the same time monitor CCF total count population. - Assist with answering offender inquiries Assist with answering correspondence and oral inquiries from CCF staff, attorneys, clerk of courts, child support agencies within confidentiality requirements of the Iowa Code and CCF/DOC policies. - Assist with data entry, filing, scanning and organizing records. - Perform background checks for special visits, volunteers, contractors, college tours. - Initiate the offenders release checklist. - Serve as back up to the AA2 in the Records Department. - Other duties as assigned, such as filling in for other positions to support institutional functions and special projects. Minimum Qualification Requirements Experience equal to three years of full-time clerical or closely related work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting graduation from high school, G.E.D. equivalency or satisfactory completion of a recognized correspondence or formal job-related training course at the high school or equivalent level such as that offered by WIN, OEO, CEP, CIVEC or similar programs, for one year only of the required experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting nine months or thirty semester hours coursework in an accredited business school, college or university for each year of the required experience; OR certification from the State of Iowa Administrative Assistant Certificate Program will substitute for six months of the required experience; OR employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of eighteen months of full time experience as a resident treatment worker or Clerk-Advanced.
