This position requires routine clerical work as well as answering phones. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A Clerk Typist 2 performs routine clerical work as assigned by the employee's immediate supervisor. In this role, you must possess knowledge and proficiency in the use of computers and computer programs. This position is also responsible for minor computer troubleshooting and assisting other workers with minor computer problems. Your work will include assisting with the department filing system in compliance with the regulations of the filing room. Other duties to include but not limited to:
- Serving as back-up to the Department of Human Services (DHS) High Density File Room clerk and completing duties in the DHS High Density File Room
- Entering data into the KEA system to maintain referral, fiscal and termination information
- Assisting at the DHS lobby reception window
- Operating a desktop computer and various office equipment
- Processing and tracking incoming mail
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment.
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Part-time hours, room for flexibility.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lehigh County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lehigh County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, Montgomery, or Schuylkill counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
