Client Account Arrangement Manager

Cooley is seeking a Client Account Arrangement Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team.

Position Summary: The Client Account Arrangement Manager is responsible for development and maintenance of the firm's client Outside Counsel's Billing Guidelines ( OCG ) process with heightened attention and focus on matter management/maintenance within 3E to include compliance with billing rules. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a centralized tracking system to manage outside counsel guidelines to ensure compliance with client's billing guidelines.
  • Create & manage client/matter billing rate billing arrangements; rate set ups & updates.
  • Review outside counsel billing guidelines and confirm clarification of billing rules.
  • Collaborate with Business Intake & Conflicts ( BIC ) (Conflicts Staff Attorneys) and Strategy and Legal Practice (Pricing teams) to obtain General Counsel signoff for each individual outside counsel billing arrangement request.
  • Create and maintain accurate client and/or matter financial arrangements in 3E.
  • Set up billing rules in 3E and attach to client/matter; automate rules to interact across multiple teams.
  • Manage time entry rules via IntApp Terms to enhance billing rules compliance at the point of time entry.
  • Develop streamlined workflows to disseminate billing guidelines to internal stakeholders in a timely manner for optimal adherence.
  • Create new task/activity list and maintain.
  • Understand and set cost constraints in 3E to comply with client's billing guidelines.
  • Capture and maintain a repository of client's annual terms for fee rate increases to optimize revenue capture during client's designated approval guidelines.
  • Leverage data-driven insights from 3E and Ebill Hub reporting to drive billing compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests.
  • Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities.
  • In collaboration with immediate supervisor and CN HR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events.
  • All other duties as assigned or required.
Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications.
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.
  • Ability to travel, as required.
  • 5+ years directly applicable experience in the field (e.g., legal billing or e-billing management experience in a law firm environment).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Broad knowledge base of implementation process to onboard e-billed clients.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience working with 3E.
  • Supervisory experience.

The expected annual pay range for this position is $110,000 - $155,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
