Essential Functions and Primary DutiesDevelop relationships with clients and other stakeholdersParticipates in the development of and support the client's strategic plansMonitor the financial performance of clientsCompile and analyze financial reporting packagesPrepare monthly and annual operating budgetsDevelop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's proceduresCommunicate financial metrics to senior managementProvide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departmentsPrepare relevant work papers and bank reconciliationsPrepare state and local sales tax and payroll tax returnsPrepare financial statements for both public and private companies, including cash flow statements and note disclosureResearch tax and GAAP issues and topics and draft technical position papersRegional and local travel to client locations and training courses Preferred QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in AccountingCPA or CPA candidate strongly preferredKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesAbility to problem-solve and think both creatively and logicallyA demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines8+ years of experience in public accounting and 4+ years in private industry (accounting Mgr., Asst. Controller, Controller) or equivalent combination of experience preferredSmall to mid-sized company background is preferred; additional large company exposure a plusKnowledge/experience with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, bill.com and receipts.com a plus Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required8 years of experience in public accounting or related field6 years of supervisory experienceMust have active CPA or equivalent certificationAbility to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessaryProficient use of applicable technologyDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externallyProven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skillsMust be able to travel based on client and business needsThe annual salary target for this job in this market is $170,000- $205,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
