Job Description:

We are Sorrel Sky Gallery - a nationally respected, prestigious, high-end gallery, representing some of the top artists in the industry since 2002. We are currently seeking a Client Advisor/ Luxury Sales Associate with a proven luxury / art sales track record for an amazing opportunity at our newest location in Soho.

If you are driven to provide exceptional client service, have experience with fine arts and/or luxury high-value brands (on a par with Cartier, Gucci, Hermes, Prada) in a high volume, sales-driven environment, and are seeking your next career opportunity, this could be a great fit for you. We offer a 3-4 day work schedule with the opportunity to move to 5 days/week based on performance.

In this role you will interact with clientele from all over the world, assisting them in making art selections and creating a seamless experience from purchase through to installation. Working as part of the Sorrel Sky team, you will be involved in planning special events, creating a welcoming environment, problem-solving, and ensuring outstanding customer service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A successful record of personal sales in fine art or high-value luxury brands. Ability to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong understanding of customer service practices.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including some weekends, holidays and for shows and events.
  • Bachelors degree in art, business, or a related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the location team to ensure the success of the Gallery location. Teamwork is a must!
  • Greet all visitors, and attend to clients to facilitate sales.
  • Organize and enter incoming inventory into the gallerys database.
  • Communicate with represented artists regarding inventory intake and return.
  • Answer phones and successfully close phone sales.
  • Attend to clients through the complete process of the sale: identifying serious buyers, closing, taking payment, coordinating shipment, follow-up.
  • Build productive and long-term relationships with clientele.
  • Set and achieve sales goals.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales.
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service.
  • Process purchases using POS system.
  • Display inventory in a creative and compelling way.
  • Maintain knowledge of exhibitions, events, and represented artists.
  • Represent the gallery in a professional and knowledgeable manner while conducting sales at exhibitions and events.
  • Work with Gallery Manager and team to discover targets for private and public institutional acquisitions of art, and develop plans for outreach and submissions of work for consideration. Develop relationships with interior designers and art consultants.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the gallery.
  • Assist staff with other duties as needed.

GALLERY-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE (Preferred, not required)

  • Experience in fine art sales; AND/OR
  • Experience in selling luxury goods.

Pay: Full-time. Compensation is base pay + commission

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift; scheduled work days on a set schedule that will include 1 weekend day.
