Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced AV Field Service Technician that will provide exceptional service, repair and general support for audio/video/light/controls integrated systems for commercial venues, houses of worship, government facilities and other businesses.

Your home will be your office! However, this position requires the ability to travel daily to client sites in the Atlanta, GA and surrounding areas. Thus, we will only consider applicants that are physically located in the Atlanta, GA area for this position.

What does a typical day look like? You will:

Troubleshoots and solves client service requests (remotely and in-person) for audio/video/light/controls equipment. This includes:

  • Interacts with clients to clearly define, diagnose and fix system problems/issues. If unable to resolve, will escalates the issue to the appropriate person and continually follows up until there is a final resolution
  • Gathers and organizes equipment, parts and tools needed for each service call. Keeps inventory of needed equipment & parts and submits timely requests when inventory is low
  • Arrives at client site at agreed upon time or immediately communicates any delays
  • Provide timely updates to the Client Care & Service Coordinator

Accurately documents all work time which includes time spent on service calls and/or other client interactions.

Other duties of a similar nature and level may also be assigned.

What are we looking for on your resume in order to consider you as an ideal future team member?

  • Have at least 1+ years' experience installing, integrating, setting up and performing basic programming for Commercial Pro-AV systems (Biamp, Creston, Extron, Q-SYS, etc.). Experience must include strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills of all A/V/L systems (i.e. video conferencing systems, commercial displays, video walls & projectors) down to component level.
  • Possess a general understanding of control systems, audio and video signal systems. This includes basic low voltage electrical knowledge.
  • Extremely organized with the ability to self-manage their time in order to meet work and client deadlines
  • CTS certification preferred or obtain within first 6 months of employment.
  • Has an excellent and insurable driving record with the ability to drive to client sites throughout assigned area. Depending on your location, client sites could be up to 4 hours away.
  • Proficient in the ability to read and decipher blueprints and schematic & use basic hand and power tools
  • Background in providing excellent customer service
  • Due to client company needs, work hours are typically Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Working outside these hours is sometimes necessary to meet client emergency problems/issues.

What is the job environment like?

This position is typically sedentary in nature. Requires frequent sitting for long periods in a car driving to client sites. Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other office equipment. Occasionally, you have to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).

Work is usually performed inside though occasional outside activities may occur for short periods of time in a seasonal temperature-fluctuating environment.
