Position Summary

The CSS informs the client and the representing attorney of the available sentencing options and treatment services. This position will focus on finding treatment solutions for clients, including assessing and evaluating clients for community-based options.

Salary Information

The starting salary for this position will be between $23.00 and $32.68 per hour. Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary based on the applicable provisions in the State Compensation Plan. This position is in the Pay Schedule/Range (12-64). Salary will depend on experience and qualifications and will be based on rules that apply in the current compensation plan.

Permanent classified state employees who are eligible for consideration (transfer, voluntary demotion, or reinstatement) for a position assigned to the stated pay range or counter-part pay range, should complete the application process as described above by the stated deadline.

Note that applicants coming from the Wisconsin State Court System may be subject to certain restrictions regarding their leave benefits if they are selected for this position.

Final selected candidates may be eligible for moving expense reimbursement to relocate to the place of employment.

Job Details

A criminal background check will be done prior to an offer of employment.

Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Ability to testify in an effective manner in court procedures. Testifying in an effective manner requires candidates and employees have no criminal convictions that may allow impeachment of testimony.

Travel to other counties in WI will be required.

Minimum Qualifications (Required - Candidates must have experience and/or training relevant to these areas in order to be considered for this position):

* Interviewing and gathering information from people of all ages and backgrounds

* Developing treatment proposals by identifying community resources available (e.g., AODA, mental health, and/or counseling programs, etc.)

A well-qualified candidate will also have experience and/or training in the following areas:

* Working with the criminal, juvenile, and/or mental health systems

* Communicating with diverse clientele
