About The PositionThe Research Interest Group (RIG) Program Coordinator supports the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP). The mission of the TSNRP is to enhance collaboration among military nurse scholars and directly support the mission of the TSNRP Resource Center. This is accomplished primarily by overseeing the activities of several military nursing geographically separated TSNRP research groups (RIGs) and facilitation special projects that enhance the scholarly development of military nurses. This position does not directly conduct research but provides a positive customer service experience to support military nurses engaged in specialty research groups' projects and dissemination activities such as publications, presentations, specialty meetings, and TSNRP courses. This is a hybrid remote position that requires a minimum of two (2) days a week in the office in Bethesda, MD. Must reside in DC, MD or VA to be within a reasonable commute to the office. A thorough government background check will be required. Salary Range$80,000 - $95,000. Salaries and hourly pay rates are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate's related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.Responsibilities
  • Assist military nurse scholars with the development of nursing research portfolios by facilitating the development of a written strategic plan, outreach, and capacity building for military nursing RIGs
  • Provides consultation to RIG leaders and RIG members to facilitate the development of Annual Plans, Annual Reports, and Charters
  • Coordinate with the TSNRP Executive Director on RIG-specific project plans and budgets
  • Collaborate with the Resource Center for RIG-related events, including completion of Continuing Education packets, RIG-associated travel expenses, Course Management, and other activities as needed
  • Coordinate and facilitate the logistics for RIG activities and other assigned events
  • Coordinate dissemination of military nursing research in collaboration with nursing research journals
  • Coordinate updates to the RIG website
  • Administratively support the TSNRP Research and Evidence-Based Practice Dissemination Course, and associated RIG meetings
  • Facilitate the maintenance of research and clinical inquiry products, including metrics and survey instruments, resources, software, etc.
  • Coordinate the design and creation of outreach materials, including advertisements, posters, flyers, business cards, etc.
  • Write blogs and summaries of activities and events for dissemination on the TSNRP website, social media platforms, newsletter, annual reports, and other formats
  • Occasional evening meetings, work on weekends, and travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned by TSNRP Program Manager
  • Serve as the nurse planner for continuing education applications
  • Assist with the editorial process of TSNRP-sponsored professional journal special issues or supplements
  • Conduct literature reviews and coordinate the synthesis of literature for specialty nursing groups
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree with clinical research experience preferred must be a licensed Registered Nurse
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working with the US Military Health System and/or nursing research
  • Working knowledge of a broad range of medical/nursing specialties
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required; basic experience with website maintenance and updating (WordPress) or WIX highly desired
  • Experienced utilizing CVENT or other Program Management Support tools preferred
  • One year of experience with organizing and supporting speaker and meeting logistics in virtual platforms
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills for optimal customer experience
  • Public speaking experience in-person and at virtual events for small groups and large audiences
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently on multiple, simultaneous projects, within tight deadlines with customers
  • One year of project management experience, preferably in a federal contracting environment
