It is required that a dentist is present in the dental hygiene clinic while the students are providing dental hygiene services. Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES/STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The Dental Hygiene Clinic Dentist is responsible for supervision of dental hygiene students during clinic sessions.Supervision of the activities of the dental hygiene students during clinic sessions at Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Clinic.Provide comprehensive examinations to the clients of the Iowa Central Community College Dental Hygiene ClinicProvide prescriptions, referrals and consultative services as needed to the clients of the Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Clinic.Contribute to the achievement of the Dental Hygiene department goals.Provide additional leadership to the program.Attend meetings as required by the Program and/or College.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:Be able and willing to represent the college in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve.Act professionally in the clinical setting.Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgement when making decisions.Establish and maintain good working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and general public.Possess strong human relation skills, being able to work with diverse personalities.Be a creative, energetic, and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.Possess a basic knowledge of personal computersPerform duties that are in compliance with current legal and ethical practices of the dental profession.Demonstrate competencies and clinical skills appropriate to the practice of dentistryInvolve the student in the learning process. QualificationsMust have three years of recent dental experience. Current dentist with Iowa license.
