Category: Professional City: Dyersburg State: Tennessee Shift: 0 - Day (United States of America) Job Description Summary: Assist in activities to support efficient, effective, and compliant operations of the Therapy Department at the Therapy & Learning Center. Under the general supervision of the Therapy Services Manager provides leadership and administrative assistance in all aspects of his/her area to accomplish goals and objectives, except those directly involving clinical judgment. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday and are flexible to meet the needs of the program. Compliance and state regulations related to the particular clinic are expected to be maintained by this employee. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for consulting in the development of and adherence to departmental policies and procedures, and helps with the education of staff regarding these policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend system changes to improve department operations to accomplish a higher degree of efficiency and to maximize effective utilization of resources.
  • Continually review and recommend revisions/updates to procedures to assure efficient workflow between department, Billing, HIM, school systems, Tennessee Early Intervention System, and others.
  • Responsible for management and success of programs to ensure the most cost-effective use of resources, staff, space, and equipment in the clinic and within service locations.
  • Responsible for the supervision and training of clerical staff and ordering and submitting orders for the clinic.
  • Identifies and informs program manager of trends, problems, and activities related to assigned duties.
  • Represents the therapy department in its relationship with other healthcare organizations, school districts, TEIS, and third-party payors, as requested.
  • Attends required meetings and participates as a member of organizational and departmental committees, as requested.
  • Responsible for departmental reports including but not limited to monthly productivity reports, school billing, mileage reimbursement, and annual statistical reports.
  • Responsible for departmental technology needs such as iPads and assistive technology, and troubleshooting computer-related issues for therapy staff.
  • Participate in safety-related tasks as directed by program manager including compliance with Department of Health regulations.
  • Provide administrative support for the operation of the Rein-Bow Riding Academy program.
  • Assists with arranging for patient coverage and communicating with individuals affected in the event of planned or unplanned absences of therapists in the clinic setting.
  • Responsible for coordinating therapy job shadower program.
  • Responsible for monitor patient attendance in the clinic setting and taking appropriate action when non-compliance is identified.
  • Provide front desk coverage in the clinic as needed.
  • Assist with preparation for staff meetings and training.
  • Serve as a liaison between Therapy Manager and/or Program Managers and Clinic Coordinator and other support staff, Billing Department staff, school systems, and others upon request.
  • Responsible for conducting Tennessee Early Intervention System Data System documentation reviews and entry of TEIDS service logs and contact logs as needed.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:
  • Prefer 3 years as an office manager in a clinic.
