A Brief Overview
The focus of the Clinic Nurse Manager (CNM) is to act as liaison between the staff, physician and Administration to improve and maintain quality patient care. Management skills needed are those to supervise, plan, organize, and motivate the activities of staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care. In addition, the CNM will provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. The delivery of professional nursing care at Stormont-Vail Health is guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and the theory of Shared governance, both of which are congruent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Education Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Experience Qualifications
* 2 years Professional nursing experience. Required
* Prior management experience. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. (Required proficiency)
* Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care. (Required proficiency)
* Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. (Required proficiency)
* Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
* Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
What you will do
* Coordinating patient care management across the continuum of care, including planning and implementing of clinical protocols/practice management guidelines, monitoring care of patients by making daily physician rounds.
* Responsible for emergency preparedness and AED, assisting with developing and maintaining a procedural manual, reviewing regulatory logs and developing department competencies.
* Providing for inter-facility and regional professional staff development, participating in case review, standardizing practice guidelines, and directing community education and prevention programs for the pediatric patient population. Collaborate with clinical educator regarding education needs of department staff.
* Monitoring of outcomes and system issues related to quality of care delivery, developing quality filter, audits and case reviews, identify trends and sentinel events, and helping to outline remedial actions while maintaining confidentiality based on data analysis; determines effectiveness of interventions to meet desired outcomes.
* Managing, as appropriate the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the Department, serving as a liaison to administration, and representing the Department on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal Department care management.
* Maintains staffing levels compatible with high quality, safe patient care delivery. Responsible for managing absence requests, vacancies, and the staffing schedule.
* Serves as an internal resource to address and resolve any questions or issues of patient care.
* Defines, establishes, and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards; assists Directors and staff in development of standards compliance.
* Creates an environment in which staff contributes to decision making.
* Accountable for the design and implementation of department policies and programs, which support the mission of the department and institution.
* Demonstrates knowledge of the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act and follows the statutes and regulations therein.
* Demonstrates appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care and department activities in accordance with the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act.
* Being involved in research selection, analysis, and distribution of findings, and facilitating protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis.
* Responsible for sound fiscal management to include allocating resources, coordinating expenditures for equipment and supplies. Assisting the Director with creating/managing departmental operating and capital budget.
