Clinic Nurse (RN, LPN)

Reports to: Clinic Director

Anticipated Schedule: 32 to 40 hours weekly. 8-9 hour shifts. Saturday morning rotation about every 16th week.

Collaborates and communicates with providers and other clinical staff to provide seamless, quality care to patients across the lifespan. Experience:

* Preferred: Previous clinic experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* Knowledge of cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.

* Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.

* Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.

* Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, healthcare policies and procedures. Knowledge of local medical review policies and has waivers signed when necessary.

* Knowledge of IV insertion and monitoring.

* Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

* Skill in managing one's own time and/or the time of others.

* Skill in catheter insertion.

* Skill in critical thinking.

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

* Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.

* Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with staff, patients and visitors.

* Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision

* Ability to operate a computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet.

* Ability to problem-solve a variety of situations.

* Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work.

* Ability to channel negative feelings into constructive outlets.

* Ability to use nursing skills in triaging patients.
