Barkley Speech Language Hearing Clinic in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders is seeking applications for a clinic office associate. This full-time position includes responsibilities to support existing office staff, audiology and speech-language pathology practitioners as they provide hearing and speech-related services to clients of all ages. Position supports efficient operations of the clinic ensuring high-quality patient care, smooth workflow, and adherence to regulatory standards. Provide support for existing billing specialist including billing, coding and insurance claims processing.
Primary work responsibilities:
* Verify hearing aid insurance benefits
* Maintain certifications and records for compliance, including HIPAA
* Oversee EMR updates and reports
* Perform chart audits
* Review monthly accounts receivable reports for verification
* Assist in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures
* Monitor healthcare regulations, such as regulatory requirements, coding guidelines, and insurance policies
* Oversees provider credentialing with insurance networks
Secondary work responsibilities:
* Provide backup support for clinic staff as needed
* Examples of work could include:
* Complete audiology supplies inventory
* Purchase clinic supplies
* Prepare and submit electronic claims to insurance networks
* Assist with following up on unpaid claims and denials
