Receives visitors/patients, determining their needs politely and directs them accordingly. Schedules appointments, receives payments, and collects co-pays and issues receipts as applicable. Enters appropriate data into the computer. Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets visitors/patients upon arrival and proceed to check-in.
- Verify insurance benefits as needed.
- Accurately registers patient's demographic information, emergency contacts, and patient/guarantor relationships.
- Verifies and updates patient/guarantor demographic information and insurance.
- Collects and records co-pays and payments at time of check-in.
- Reconcile daily receipts.
- Maintain confidential patient information.
- Take and send messages to appropriate provider.
- Open and close front office and clinic.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Scan medical records.
- Assist with Patient Portal.
- Provides office support to ensure that the department or area run efficiently.
- Open and Close front office and cover front office on Saturday Acute Care Clinic.
- Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Typing and office equipment experience to include computer operations.
- Previous experience with medical office procedures preferred.
- Neat, organized, able to work independently and interdependently, welcoming to the public.
