Medicaid, Medicare, and most private health insurance is accepted.Job DescriptionThe Clinical Assistant assists the Care Coordinator with non-clinical duties such as handling phone inquiries, assisting with scheduling, obtaining pre-authorizations and completing durable medical equipment (DME) paperwork for providers to sign.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED requiredTypically requires six (6) month to one (1) year experienceMental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the positionMust be able to adhere to all client related policies and proceduresincluding confidentialityRequires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statuteQualificationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Answering phone, retrieving and returning voicemailsAssisting care coordinator/MA's with incoming prescription faxes, processing, documenting and faxing back to the pharmacyAssisting with obtaining prior authorization for medications, radiology and DMETranslate as neededAssist staff with scheduling nurse visits for needed vaccines and or depression screenings, FOBT's, etc.Review forms signed in departments for missing information and have addressed accordingly by Care Coordinator.Assist in log tracking duties as time allowsCarries out other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS:Energetic forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional imageThe ability to work independently and effectively under pressureDemonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also requiredSuperior organizational and problem solving skillsComputer proficient with Word and ExcelAbility to learn and utilize Employee Health Records ( E.H.R)Strong customer service skillsProblem solving skillsAbility to follow direction from multiple providers and supervisorsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.The occupant may, at times, lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
