SummaryAssists the physician and technician in the clinic to optimize patient flow. Perform basic specialized visual fields service and patient care tasks under strict supervision of a physician.EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDCompetencies / Skills Required* Detail Oriented* Patient/Customer Service Oriented* Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills* Multi-Tasker* Basic Computer Skills (electronic health record experience preferred)* Dependable* Flexible* Ability to travel to multiple offices if neededEssential Functions / Job Duties* Performs perimetry testing for multiple physician requests (Goldman and automated visual fields)* Maintains and performs calibration of visual field instruments* Must be skilled at keyboard usage, data entry, and familiar with electronic health records usage* Checks for patient arrival, prepares for the patient to be seen* Prepares exam rooms including cleaning slit-lamps and other areas prior to rooming patient* Performs various diagnostic tests as directed to include Topography, Pachymetery, and Tonometry* Dilate patients* E-prescribe prescriptions to pharmacy* Checks and calls no show patients (document this in chart)* Stocks rooms with supplies and drops* Prep patients for injections* Takes directions from manager, physicians and technicians to perform other duties as needed/assignedPhysical Demands* Lifting up to 20 pounds without assistance* Able to assist in transporting immobile or less mobile patients into exam chair* Ability to move in and out of multiple exam rooms and stand for up to 8 hours per day* Ability to adjust seating level to utilize equipment at patient's eye levelWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
