Job Description:

Stamford Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant to join our GI Services - Tully Center!

The clinical assistant provides compassionate and effective care to patients in the outpatient Endoscopy setting. Responsibilities include assisting with department specific related duties, being observant of patients responses to interventions, providing nourishment and contributing to the education process for patients and their families. The clinical assistant also supports patient during discharge ensuring a safe transition to their vehicle, all under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing staff.

Schedule: Full Time, day shift, Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.

Mobility is necessary to provide patient care. Physical effort is required to assist patients with transfer and ambulation, which may involve lifting, pushing and pulling patients. Hearing within normal range is necessary in order to properly conduct assessments. Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking. This position may perform occasional EKG preferred but not required.

Required Skills:

1) Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

2) Must have one of the following:

* Certified from a CNA program

* Enrolled in an accredited nursing program having completed core nursing curriculum for ADLs' as part of clinical rotations

* A graduate of a foreign nursing program

* A graduate of an accredited nursing program, having failed board licensure (2 chances)

3) Heart Saver or equivalent required
