Successful candidates will* Teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate- (e.g., general psychology, lifespan development) and master's-level (e.g., courses in psychotherapy, assessment, abnormal psychology)* Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research* Serve on graduate student thesis committees* Provide clinical supervision to master's level students* Actively engage in service to the department, college, and university.* This position does not require an active program of research and is a non-tenure granting position.Promotion to Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Professor is based on teaching, service, and clinical responsibilities.What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities:* Implement effective teaching strategies while teaching a 4/4 load fall & spring semesters* Provide clinical supervision to graduate students.* Actively participate in academic service at the department, college, and university levels.* Serve on graduate student thesis committees.Key Competencies:* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.* Ability to implement effective and innovative teaching strategies.* Knowledge and ability to provide supervision hours to clinical graduate students.* Demonstrated commitment to service to the university, profession, and community.Physical Requirements:Standing for long periods while teaching,Who We Are:Lamar University is an accessible global university for life-long learners with a passion for broad-based community engagement.
