Job Description:The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Nursing & Public Health seeks applications for a two-year term Clinical Assistant Professor position, starting in August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching didactic lectures, clinical courses, simulations, and labs as needed in medical-surgical nursing. Additional responsibilities include mentoring prelicensure nursing students; participating in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees; developing, implementing, and evaluating the purpose, philosophy/mission, and outcomes of the program; designing, implementing, evaluating, and revising the curriculum as demonstrated in the program evaluation plan; providing students with written program policies as specified; participating in academic advisement and guidance of students; providing for admission, progression, and graduation of students; providing for student evaluation, self-evaluation, and peer evaluation of teaching effectiveness; and participating in activities to ensure competency in area(s) of responsibility.Education Requirements:Master's degree in nursing required.Required Qualifications:Current licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa prior to teaching; at least two years of experience in clinical nursing; and a master's degree with a major in nursing required.
