OverviewUnityPoint ClinicsClinical Care Attendant(Certified Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT/Paramedic)Jordan Creek Express CareWest Des Moines, IAMonday-Friday: 3 x 12 hour shifts (8AM-8PM) per week, every 3rd weekend (Sat + Sun 8AM-8PM)36 hours/weekFull-time + benefits$5000.00 sign on bonus for external hires.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Clinical Care Attendant to join our Express Care Clinic. In this role, you will support healthcare providers in delivering efficient and high-quality care to patients seeking immediate medical attention. This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. If you thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment, we encourage you to apply.The role requires Certified Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT or Paramedic, as direct patient care is the major component of this role.* Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.* Record vital signs, patient history, and symptoms accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.* Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.* Administer basic treatments such as wound care, splinting, and administering injections as directed by healthcare providers.* Provide patients with post-visit instructions and guidance on follow-up care.* Assist with diagnostic tests, such as collecting lab specimens or performing EKGs, under the direction of medical staff.* Facilitate patient flow by ensuring timely rooming of patients and managing appointment schedules.* Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care and provide education on self-care and health maintenance.* Ensure the clinic complies with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.* Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, handling referrals, and answering patient inquiries.Qualifications* Graduate of an accredited program and current licensure/certification for your scope of practice.* LPN or CMA will be considered for this position.* EMT or Paramedic will also be considered for this position.* 1-2 years' work experience in a Family Practice setting, Urgent Care, or related field required.* BLS and Mandatory Reporter.Why UnityPoint Health?* Commitment to our Team - For the third consecutive year, we're proud to be recognized as a Top 150 Place to Work in Healthcare 2022 by Becker's Healthcare for our commitment to our team members.* Culture - At UnityPoint Health, you matter.
