HOURLY RANGE: $50.13 - $67.68 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves planning, coordinating and directing various components of the Health Equity Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Plan at the Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC).The incumbent develops and evaluates quality assurance/performance improvement initiatives and investigates and resolves quality assurance problems related to health equity.The work involves coordinating activities and initiatives aimed at achieving health equity, ensuring that all patients have fair opportunities to attain their highest level of health. Work is performed under the general supervision of a the Vice President of System and Population Health.Supervision is not a function of this position.Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Manages and coordinates the collection and documentation of performance improvement outcome data as it related to health equity; Collaborates with department administration and clinical staff to develop and evaluate health equity programs aimed at enhancing patient participation and eliminating disparities in care coordination; Facilitates health equity-related quality improvement meetings and drives initiatives for compliance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations; Provides survey guidance for regulatory visits; Coordinates ECMCC internal auditing to ensure regulatory compliance; Assists in establishing and auditing compliance with procedures; Assists in facility survey preparation process and related day-to-day auditing process; Serves as a resource person for staff providing health equity information on care standards and regulatory and facility requirements; Leads and facilitates the development and coordination of various health equity initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities across ECMCC; Analyzes and responds to health equity data collected across ECMCC; Identifies priorities in health equity work and ensures timely completion of assignments; Meets with and presents to community organizations, healthcare providers, insurance providers and the general public to enhance the awareness of health equity initiatives performed at ECMCC; Uses project management and quality improvement tools and methodologies to improve health equity program activities; Participates in and organizes meetings, conferences, in-services, trainings, and other events aimed at promoting health equity within the organization and the broader community; May assist with creating a schedule of diversity programs, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion-related community relations activities, councils and programs; Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences. FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, procedures and terminology; good knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines as they relate to hospital health care and health equity; good knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of hospital quality assurance planning and program development; good knowledge of national standards as they relate to health equity; good knowledge of administrative techniques; good knowledge of nursing or clinical teaching techniques; good knowledge of principles of management as applied to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities; proficiency utilizing a variety electronic software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to motivate personnel; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency; ability to analyze and evaluate quality assurance data; ability to prepare reports and recommendations; initiative; resourcefulness; tact; emotional stability; good judgment; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
