In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one's personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver's license, and good driving record. Master's preferred and prior experience in clinical setting.* Must have knowledge that includes an understanding of the educational objectives and experiences of student nurses, an understanding of the clinical practice of nursing, knowledge of the diverse organizational environments in which nurses practice, and knowledge of the types of clinical sites needed to meet course content and objectives.Responsibilities:Generally, the tasks of the Clinical Coordination Manager are focused on the coordination and facilitation of the clinical experiences for nursing students in the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing. The Manager of Clinical Coordination's primary responsibilities are to support faculty and MIGSON leadership in clinical education activities. At the minimum, the Clinical Coordination Manager collaborates with the Director, Chair, support coordinators of clinical education and academic faculty to support clinical education standards, and to facilitate development of clinical education sites and clinical faculty.* The Clinical Coordination Manager works closely and collaborates with the Director of Nursing , Program Chairs and Program Coordinators.* The Clinical Coordination Manager reports directly to the Director of OperationsAdministrative Duties | Adjunct Faculty Support* Oversee the onboarding, orientation and coordination of clinical adjuncts and/or clinical preceptors, as per university, college and departmental policies.* Work closely with the clinical team, clinical support coordinator, site coordinators/administrators, and lead faculty to support clinical practice experiences for all adjunct faculty at multiple sites.* Coordinate site visits.* Collaborate with lead instructors to develop, implement and document methods of assessing clinical sites and preceptors in accordance with the accrediting standards.* Manage ACEMAPP or other designated clinical tracking software and develop methods of assessing the clinical phase of the program as part of ongoing self-assessment.* Assist with long-range planning. Prepare materials for periodic program reviews, accreditation reports, and other external reviews.* Establish and maintain relationships with clinical partners based on the needs of the program chairs and coordinators.* Manage the request for all new clinical rotations with all new and existing health partners* Oversee the onboarding, orientation and coordination of clinical support staff.* Oversee and work with the clinical support staff to ensure that all adjuncts and students are credentialed prior to the start of their clinical experience.* Recommend budgetary considerations for programmatic clinical experiences to the Director and Program Chairs.* As assigned by the Director and Program Chairs, participate in planned recruiting activities and adjunct faculty retention activities.* The Manager of Clinical Coordination performs all other duties as directed by the Director of Operations, Director, Program Chairs and Program Coordinators, the Dean of the Ivester College of Health Sciences, the Brenau University Provost, and the Brenau University President or designee.Clinical Management:The Clinical Manager is expected to:* Participate in accreditation reviews and visits.* Attend and appropriately contribute to University, Ivester College of Health Sciences, and departmental faculty meetings.* Serve as a representative, whether elected or appointed, on committees within the department, Ivester College of Health Sciences, and/or the University.* Participate in the development, revision, and updating of mission statements and curriculum materials.* Assume responsibilities in grant-related projects as assigned.* Assume other duties within the program when needed and feasible.Community Relations Within and Outside of Brenau* Represent the department within the Brenau community through committee service, attendance at University-sponsored events, and the establishment of collegial relationships with other faculty and administrators.* Represent the University to the community in a professional and positive way through volunteer service, participation in community events, and professional affiliations.* Maintain a strong and visible presence in state, local, national and international professional activities.Supervisory Responsibilities:No supervisory responsibilities required.Work Hours:37.5 hours per week. Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes:Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
