Visit our SCF Human Resources webpage for benefit details Job Summary The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring students' compliance to the clinical course requirements based on the college's affiliation agreements with the healthcare facilities in the community using the CastleBranch document database as well as Project Concert. This person will work closely with our clinical healthcare partners to ensure that SCF receives the clinical space needed for students to meet program objectives. The Clinical Coordinator manages all student registration, creates all nursing courses, and collaborates with the ASN and BSN Program Managers to plan future courses. The Clinical Coordinator organizes and leads the Nursing Advisory Board meeting each June as well as attends all community nursing education functions along with the ASN Director of Curriculum and Instruction or the Dean of Nursing. The Clinical Coordinator maintains all affiliation agreements with our clinical healthcare partners and works to identify additional clinical sites when needed. This is a 12-month that position reports to the Dean of Nursing and serves on the Nursing Leadership Team. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
  • Maintains the Affiliation Agreements of Healthcare facilities and aligns clinical requirements with the Record Tracking Company, Student Compliance Checklist, Canvas NUR courses, and in the Nursing Student Handbook to reflect the agreements.
  • Manages and tracks all student and faculty clinical requirements at the highest level of the clinical facility affiliation agreements before student clinical placement and student admission into the ASN Program.
  • Monitors the status of required hospital orientations and related clinical compliance documents of faculty and students on the shared nursing drive to maintain the latest documents required.
  • Creates all classes (CRNs) for the ASN and BSN Programs in collaboration with the program leaders, Dean of Nursing, Nursing Department Secretary, and the Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator.
  • Oversees registration of all ASN students for nursing classes each semester prior to July 1 and December 1 of each academic year
  • Directs the permitting of students into their clinical course/classroom course and monitors active student rosters for appropriate enrollment in clinical courses.
  • In collaboration with SCF Nursing Staff, plans and organizes the Advisory Board Meeting yearly in June.
  • Confirms that student clinical absences are being documented in the nursing repository, negotiates clinical makeup dates, and confirms student attendance. Manages student readmission packets; plans attendance appeal committee and readmission committee meetings; and provides data-based reports as appropriate.
  • Documents full-time and adjunct faculty clinical compliance for SCF's Nursing Programs.
  • Confirms that all full-time and adjunct faculty are oriented to their assigned clinical site prior to the first day of clinical. Coordinates with clinical partners to place clinical groups as needed 6-months in advance based on projected enrollment data.
  • Manages the liaison relationship with clinical partners through contacts and communications.
  • Helps to identify additional clinical sites for future SCF Nursing Student practice.
  • Collaborates with SCF faculty to manage compliance and documentation, for precepted MSN students from other colleges and universities, who have requested a mentorship to meet the objectives for their MSN education.

    • Education/Experience:
    Associate's degree from a two-year college and at least two years' experience in a fast-paced professional setting preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Supervisory Experience:
    Two or more years of supervisory experience with responsibility for scheduling and assigning work, training, and coaching new employees and/or assisting students/staff with challenging situations.
    • Language Ability:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional/scientific journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • MathAbility: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform calculations on standard measures of American currency and weight, volume, and distance.
    • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.
    • Computer Skills:
    Intermediate knowledge of word, excel, spreadsheets, databases, power point, creating charts and graphs, Internet and e-mail. Additional knowledge of discipline specific software. Must be proficient in current College e-mail, databases and other College required software. Must remain current with technology changes.
    • Certificates and Licenses:
    Unencumbered and active LPN or RN license in the state of Florida preferred. Responsibility for People and Property: None. Responsibility for Communication:

    Routine contact with students, faculty and instructional administrative staff; frequent contact with other State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota administrative and support departments.
