- Provides nutritional counseling for all patients as ordered by a physician and provides written/verbal follow up within 24 hours.
- Submits appropriate charges and medical records to Patient Financial Services and Health Information Management
- Educates and evaluates the development of dietetic students. Develops educational materials for use in developing the clinical nutrition skills of interns and students.
- Implements and documents calorie counts to establish a patient's actual nutritional intake.
- Acts as a liaison between Dietary department and other IMH departments to resolve any dietary or nutritional care issues which may arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
E D U C A T I O N
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics required.
- Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
E X P E R I E N C E
- Previous experience in a hospital is preferred.
C R E D E N T I A L S
- Membership in the State Dietetic Association, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and in community education groups appropriate for specialty area preferred.
- Must maintain registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Must maintain Wyoming licensure for Registered Dietitians.
- Must have current, valid BLS certification or must obtain within 60 days of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment with IMH.
- Must complete continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
