One of Muir Wood's unique benefits is the large number of insurance providers with whom we have contracts allowing us to fulfill our mission of “Making Exceptional Care Accessible.” As part of the Executive Leadership Team, and under the supervision of the CCO, the Clinical Director will oversee Muir Wood's clinical programming including (but not limited to) program development, clinical supervision, staff training in best clinical practices, and facilitation of both the weekly staff meeting and treatment team meeting. The Clinical Director provides clinical supervision and program management in areas of administrative oversight, State of CA DSS and DHCS licensing compliance, JCAHO accreditation, and employee appraisal. The Clinical Director is responsible for interviewing, selecting and training clinical staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; supervision of interns if necessary, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements: Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Responsible for hiring, evaluation, training, and performance management of all direct care and clinical staff. Ensure that therapists and staff complete outcome-tracking measures (e.g. TRAC9) in a timely manner according to Muir Wood standards. Oversee execution of the clinical program including the weekly program schedule. Responsible for ensuring adherence to the schedule and Muir Wood's standards for clinical service delivery in compliance with state licensing, Joint Commission, and payor regulations. Lead weekday morning “Flash Meeting” to coordinate staffing assignments, admissions and discharges, and ensure timely and effective safety interventions by clinical and direct care staff. Monitor and drive client outcomes, lengths-of-stay, and treatment recovery efforts; actively collaborate with admissions and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Ensure that all clinical documentation (biopsychosocial assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, group notes, discharge summaries, etc.) are completed within the required timeframes per payor, Joint Commission, and licensing requirements, and that documentation accurately reflects treatment interventions and medical necessity. Facilitate attendance at, and management of, weekly treatment team planning. Responsible for oversight of the treatment team meetings to focus on treatment planning, data-informed care and discharge planning. Participate in Monthly Operating Report meetings to evaluate clinical KPIs and participate in the development of strategic planning initiatives to address deficiencies and promote continued quality improvements. Responsible for compliance with all client safety protocols, including use of standardized suicide risk assessments to determine the level of intervention required. Drive implementation of individualized safety plans and other interventions (i.e., use of increased observation or client rounding, etc.). Management of all contractors (e.g. experiential therapists, etc.) including scheduling, communication, performance management, and budgeting of such contractors. Intervene and assist as needed with clients in crisis. On-call for clinical emergency and consultation. Provide coverage, when necessary, for individual family therapy. Coordinate with the Chief Compliance Officer to meet all regulatory standards and correct deficiencies in a timely manner. Participate in the PI, QA, and UR activities of the facility as directed by the Compliance Department. Responsible for ensuring parent / referent communication and case management by all clinical team members. Act as a program liaison to all referring agencies. Attends community meetings as needed and participates in marketing events as needed. Help clinicians and staff tailor clinical care to clients and families of different (and intersectional) age, gender, and racial/ethnic backgrounds. Professionally, ethically, and compassionately relates to clients, families, and staff at all times. Other duties as requested by CCO. Qualifications: Licensed PhD, PsyD, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC. At least four years' experience working with adolescent, substance use, mental health, and co-occurring populations. Two years of clinical care and management/supervision experience in a residential treatment or acute care setting. Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues. Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA, NA, Al-Anon, etc.). California Board of Behavioral Sciences approved supervisor strongly preferred. Proficiency in evidence-based individual and group treatment for substance use, mental health, and co-occurring clients preferred.
