CLINICAL DIRECTOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTHThe Clinical Director oversees and optimizes clinical services for participants. The Clinical Director will have regular, structured meetings with the clinical staff to discuss treatments and professional issues. The Clinical Director will guide practitioners to assess clients' mental health, develop suitable treatments, and make referrals. The Clinical Director will select, train, evaluate, discipline, and motivate staff. The Clinical Director will ensure the quality of clinical documentation at all times.Clinical Director Core Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and reviewing practitioners' work procedures and ensures that practitioners comply with licensure and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates the assignment of cases, conducts staff meetings, and provides training; schedules staff to provide for clinic coverage; evaluates work performance; assists in disciplinary proceedings.
- Assisting practitioners by supervising complex cases.
- Interview, select, and train newly hired clinical staff.
- Maintains a caseload and/or handles some of the more complex cases; performs a variety of direct clinical, diagnostic, treatment, and outreach services.
- Ensuring compliance, accuracy, and quality of clinical documentation.
- Enhancing operations by ensuring sufficient staffing and adequate access to services.
- Participates in the establishment or revision of policies, procedures, guidelines, goals, and objectives.
- Developing programs and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
- Ensures compliance with related federal, state, and local regulations, as well as departmental policies and procedures.
- Provides supervision to student interns.
- Assists with program planning, implementation, and evaluation activities.
- Participates in community outreach and public relations activities.
Knowledge of:
- Mental Health, Behavioral Health, and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and co-occurring disabilities of MH and IDD.
- Current theories, principles, and practices for services to clients with serious behavioral health care symptoms and diagnosis
- Principles and practices of effective supervision, work planning, evaluation, training, and community behavioral health care consultation
- Psychological diagnostic methods and terminology
- Cultural and social factors affecting behavior patterns
- Wellness, recovery, and resiliency-oriented strategies and supports
- Dual recovery/co-occurring disorder treatment, screening, and assessment tools
- Community needs, resources and organizations related to behavioral health care
- Clinical standards of practice and licensure requirements
- Principles and practices of direct client service delivery
- Principles of social needs, problems, attitudes, and behavioral patterns.
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations
- Office administrative practices and procedures, including records management and the operation of standard office equipment
- Computer applications related to the work

Clinical Supervisor Requirements:
- In compliance with the Administrative Simplification provision of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), employees in this classification are required to possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to their first day on the job.
- In Compliance with Medicaid regulations, licensed clinicians are required to be enrolled under BDI's Medicaid application and licensure.
- When applicable and in compliance with Medicare regulations, eligible licensed clinicians are required to complete the Medicare Enrollment Process for Physicians and non-Physician Practitioners through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
- Must be a team builder.
- Proficient with supervision, service delivery, and case management fundamentals.
- Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
- Proficient knowledge of applicable laws.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
- D. in Psychology, Counseling Education, or related field, preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
- On-the-job training and supervisory experience.
- Certification and licensing for the specific state of employment.
