Day.We are seeking a Clinical Educator for Patient Care Support at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, in Wausau, WI,to join our team!The Clinical Educator is a professional Registered Nurse leader who assumes responsibility for staff development in the department setting and is matrixed and supports Nursing Education. This position directly reports to the Nurse Leader supporting the department of responsibility. The Clinical Educator works within the System Professional Practice Model of Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The System Professional Practice Model is supported by a set of values and beliefs that provide a context for the Clinical Educator's clinical practice and decision-making. This position is required to use evidence-based practice, quality principles and strategies for change management in guiding education. Utilizes a multi-media approach with educational activities and leverages new technology to best support learning and efficiency.Experience/Qualifications* Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program.* Two years' experience in department/specialty necessary to enhance and develop skills, with previous experience in a supervisory, management, leadership or teaching capacity beneficial.* Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.* Current BLS certification - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for adult patient units and NRP for NICU.* BSN required, or actively working towards degree to be obtained within 4 years of the hire date in that role.* Additional specialty certifications as specified by department protocol (i.e. PALS, TNCC, etc.)* Certification for area of specialty required or required to pursue certification in professional development within three to five years of eligibility.* Masters in Nursing preferred* Member of professional nursing organization required (i.e. ENA, CCRN, AACN, etc.)* Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.Hours: Supplemental or 0.3 FTE, 24 hours every 2 weeks. Day shift, additional hours worked depends on Home Unit based out of those required shifts. This RN will need at least a .2 fte as a staff RN in the home department.Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
