As supervised and delegated by a Registered Nurse, the Clinical LPN Scheduler is responsible for timely and accurate scheduling of patients verifying that the pre- certification requirements of the Insurance companies have been met. Prepares and distributes data, orders, messages, schedules and other information to ancillary departments, physicians, and their staff. Performs general receptionist and range of clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the department.

Qualifications

Education:

Licensed Practical Nursing Degree, Required

Required Licenses:

Must have current Mississippi LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) licensure or Compact State.

Experience:

One - three years' experience in physician office, hospital, or other healthcare setting with knowledge of test coordination, scheduling, prior authorizations and preparation, insurance, and utilization review.

Required Skills:

* Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work.

* Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and teamwork.

* Attention to detail.

* Ability to respond to and cope with emergency situations professionally and calmly.

* Adaptable to performing well under pressure in a stressful environment and taking appropriate action.

* Must be flexible, able to work as needed for appropriate departmental coverage.

* Basic computer knowledge; become proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

* Demonstrates proficient time management skills.

* Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.
