This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally recognized team.Paid 4 PTO weeks in the first year.Paid MileageHealth and Dental InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramInternal Company AdvancementFree end of life trainingTuition reimbursement for qualified team members.401KResponsibilities:Clinical Manager Job FunctionsThe Clinical Manager (CM) is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services.Provides help in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care to all clinical personnel as indicatedInterprets operational indicators to detect census changes and increases or decreases in volume, which could impact staffing levels, revenues or expensesAssists CEO in hiring, evaluating, and terminating clinical personnelConducts clinical performance evaluations a minimum of semi-annually, or more frequently if indicatedOversees and is responsible for the content and compliance of every clinical note, order, practice and process produced or performed by the clinical staff.Responsible for orientation of new organization personnel.Participates in the planning, development and implementation of in-services and continuing education programs to meet education and training needs of organization personnelAssists with the evaluation of organization performance via performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews. Assures for the quality and safe delivery of hospice services provided through the OrganizationAssures compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and, maintains compliance to the ACHC Hospice Care standardsPromotes hospice referrals in the health care communityResponsible for holding clinical staff accountable for meeting all productivity and quality standards.Performs joint visits with associates at least semi-annually and documents their performanceCoordinates the on call schedule, weekend schedule, and vacation schedule for all clinical staff.Ensures patient care is performed according to agency policy and regulatory/state requirementsResponds to patient complaints in a timely and thorough manner with customer service as top priority.Documents complaints and communicates with associates in response to complaints as appropriate.Assists in auditing of charts in response to Adverse Event and OBQI reports.Participates in regulatory agency reviewsAccountable to counsel and develop associates in the meeting of their job expectationsWorks cooperatively with intake and marketing staff in accepting new referralsPerforms visits and admissions as needed based on staffing availability and coverage during vacations or illnessCollects/trends all required data for PI program utilizing appropriate forms.Submits PI quarterly results to Compliance and Quality ManagerOther duties as assigned by the Executive Director/AdministratorNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Associate may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.*All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.Qualifications:Clinical Manager Job QualificationsRegistered Nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state where agency locatedBachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing.Master's degree in health care preferredThree years of leadership management experience in a hospice or related health care organizationDemonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional administrative personnelAbility to market and deal tactfully with customers and the communityKnowledge of business management, governmental regulations and ACHC standardsMust have reliable transportation to travel to patient homes per patient schedule and agency needsUsing effective body mechanics, must be able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist; lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder; lift and carry 40 lbs. and push/pull 40 lbs.Must be able to (or assist with) lift, turn, move and position patientsMust be able to ensure clinically competent/qualified staffing is appropriate to meet the needs of the patients servedMust be able to competently direct and oversee patient care, ensuring care is clinically appropriateMust be able to ensure efficient, appropriate, and cost effective clinical operations of the agencyMust be able to modify/approve clinical paperwork, as well as perform chart audits and provide associate education when necessaryMust have valid driver's license and auto liability insuranceMust have knowledge of governmental regulations and JCAHO standards (if applicable)Must have knowledge of hospice Medicare, state regulations, governmental regulations and JCAHO standards (if applicable)Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in patients Home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infection diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather; PRN emergency call.
