JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of a licensed practitioner and/or department leader, the Clin-Med Assist II independently provides and documents clinical care and associated tasks as assigned and as per standardized clinical protocols. This position utilizes appropriate age and developmental approaches in application of care, regularly performs a supportive role to physicians, nurses and families in the delivery of patient care, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to patients and families. Administrative duties will also be performed as assigned.
The Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children's Hospital- San Diego, is one of the largest hospital-based Children's Advocacy Centers and trauma treatment centers in the nation. We provide family-focused and trauma-informed services to children and adolescents who may have experienced or witnessed maltreatment, abuse or violence.
The Forensic & Medical Services Program (FMS) provides vital services and information to children who have experienced maltreatment or witnessed violence, and their families. FMS is a part of the San Diego Child Protection Team (CPT), and works closely with the District Attorney's Office, Child Welfare Services, law enforcement, and other partners, in order to help keep children safe and healthy. FMS provides forensic interviews and medical exams as part of child abuse and other criminal investigations, advocacy to families, and short-term family intervention to reduce the likelihood that children will develop PTSD.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent education required
2 years of experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant Course is required
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Knowledge of healthcare operations and workflows
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree
3 years of experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
Certified Medical Assistant
Completion of blood draw training and competency
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology; experience with data entry and clinical computer systems
More than one year of Pediatric experience in inpatient, outpatient, or long-term care setting
**The expected hiring range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36**
