Position Description: The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing support to physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners and ensuring smooth patient care operations. The MA is responsible for performing clinical tasks, administrative duties, patient interactions and team collaboration. Position Duties: 1. Clinical Tasks
- The position requires travel between several clinic locations in the metro Atlanta area
- Rooms patients and prepares them to be seen by a licensed Medical Provider
- Prepares patients for exams and/or treatment
- Reviews and records medical history
- Takes and records Vital Signs
- Takes X-rays
- Fits and instructs patients on the proper use of DME
- Assists with minor procedures
- Administers IM injections as prescribed by the provider
- Prepare medications according to the onsite medical providers orders
- Print and label medications properly
- Properly manage medication electronic inventory and logbook
- Notifies practice manager of low inventory according to par levels
- Maintain appropriate pharmacy records
- Comply with rules, regulations, policies and procedures to maintain clean and safe pharmacy practices
2. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Ensures compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA)
- Maintains inventory and proper storage of medical supplies
- Ensures the cleanliness of the clinical area
- Notifies practice manager of low medication inventory according to par levels
3. Patient Interaction
- Provides patients a remarkable experience through superior care and H.E.A,R.T.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care
- Communicates knowledge within boundaries of training information that helps explain medical procedures, tests, and treatment plans
- Ensure support for patients with special needs: mobility issues as well as any challenges related to their health
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, advocating for patient needs and preferences
- Ensuring the patient receives compassionate and comprehensive care
4. Team Collaboration
- Work closely with health care providers to ensure efficient patient care
- Participate in team huddles and meetings, contributing to quality improvement initiatives

Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA or equivalent) strongly desired.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Required: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Military Medical Specialist with current credentials
- Preferred: 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in similar setting
- Advanced Computer Skills
- X-Ray Radiation Safety Training (Company will provide training)
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software
- Excellent communicator
- Exhibits Emotional Intelligence
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Can prioritize multiple priorities and bring tasks to completion
Position Miscellaneous:
- Hourly (Non-Exempt)
- Shift differential based on the millage from your main clinic location
- Must be able to travel to other AICA clinics as needed within a specific zone
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
- Must have reliable transportation
- Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; manipulation of documents; typing on the keyboard; limited lifting from floor to overhead of less than 1O pounds; some stooping and bending
