Overview
Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The Bed Management team at Missouri Baptist Medical Center coordinates all internal and external bed accommodations to appropriate level of care. These dedicated nurses assess the hospital's ability to accommodate patient transfers and act as a liaison and resource to physicians, hospital staff, ancillary services and external facilities.

Coordinates all internal and external bed accommodations to appropriate level of care. Provides limited direct patient care to facilitate patient admissions and discharges; and had responsibility to determine the hospital's ability to accommodate transfers.
Responsibilities
Coordinates effectively to the appropriate clinical level of care the accommodations for internal and external bed requests.Communicates effectively with all internal and external customers, ancillary departments and Patient Placement, providing accurate documentation and timely feedback.Participates in performance improvement and department projects to enhance quality and service provided to customers and participates in problem-solving.Ensures that all scheduled patients are accurately scheduled.
