The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a catalyst for change within the organization with the translation and implementation of evidence-based practice into clinical practice at the bedside and throughout the organization. Utilizing expert knowledge as a subject matter expert for their clinical specialty, the CNS identifies areas for improvement, reviews relevant information, and represents the company's clinical practice on organizational project teams. This role analyzes data, assesses compliance with regulatory standards, and provides guidance and mentorship to interprofessional teams and stakeholders. The CNS also leads and manages large processes and initiatives within their area of expertise, to ensure effective coordination and collaboration driving optimal patient outcomes. As a subject matter expert, this role functions as a clinical expert, advocate, consultant, collaborator, educator and is involved in research and evidence-based practice quality improvement projects and initiatives.Talent Pool:NursingIdentifies areas for improvement in clinical practices, policies, and procedures, and develops recommendations to enhance patient care outcomes and optimize resource utilization while promoting fiscal responsibility.Reviews and assesses clinical data, including medical records and research findings, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, processes, and outcomes.Represent clinical practice on organizational project teams, contributing insights and expertise to promote evidence-based practices.Analyzes complex clinical issues, and applies problem-solving skills to develop solutions and improve patient care delivery.Manages and leads large-scale processes and initiatives and ensures effective coordination to promote collaboration among interdisciplinary teams.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION:Required: Master's Degree in NursingPreferred: DNP or Pd.D.EXPERIENCE:Required: 5 years as a Registered Nurse and 2 years in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizationsLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Must be recognized by the state of NC as a CNS on hire or within 3 years of hire. must be certified in specialty areaEqual Opportunity Employer At Cone Health, we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates a diverse and unique workforce.
